SUMMER MEETINGS
No regular meetings of the Harman Civic Association or the Western District Police Community Relations Council are scheduled until September. As soon as dates become available, they will be posted on the right. (Look under the welcome notice.)
Hi to all my neighbors and former readers of the print version of Harman Woods News, which ceased publication 8 years ago. I started the Harmanwoodsnews.blogspot.com in March, but it seems to have been co-opted by someone called Paula. If someone can help me figure this out, feel free. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and learn from therealharmanwoodsnews. To start reading this blog, click on the topic below that you are interested in. You can even subscribe to alerts and new posts, I think, and as soon as I figure it all out I will post new information. Let me know what you think, what problems you are having, and what you would like to see. If you have news items, send them to me via e-mail, to lizgreene52@yahoo.com and I will post them. You can also drop them off at 7720 Aragorn Ct, Hanover, MD 21076.
Boyer's Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Stand on the corner of Harman's and Severn Road offers lots of peaches, tomatoes, corn, melons, cucumbers and other seasonal vegetables and fruits, all very fresh. The peaches are especially delicious and unlike anything you will get in the grocery.
If you prefer your eatables organic, Wallin Organic Farm is at the Severna Park Farmers market every Saturday till October. The market is located at the corner of Jones Station Rd and Rt 2 in the Park and Ride across from Rite Aid. They also do Community Supported Agriculture Call them at 410-755-6677. The farm is located in Warwick in Cecil County.
Don't forget David's Natural Market, located in Gambrills, Colombia and Belair. The Gambrills location makes the BEST soups, perfect for cold days, and they have a wonderful little coffee and tea bar. They also have milk in GLASS bottles. If you have forgotten how good this tastes, or never knew, you owe it to yourself to try. It is out of this world. Treat yourself.

In my words - Once editor of the print version of Harman Woods News, which was published from 1988 to 2000.
In Roger Fox's words "Back around 1996 when we started having juvenile problems, Liz was the person who got me in touch with the Harman Civic Association and the Western District Police-Community Relations Council.
Up to that time, I was like a lot of people. I went to work, came home, but really didn't know what was going on in our community.
Liz also did a great job in those days when she published the old Harmans Woods News. It was the only local (hardcopy) publication which covered our areas in detail [with exception of Jerry Peterson's Provincial News publication.]"
